Being a Girlschool fan in The States is like belonging to a small club. For reasons I've never quite understood, they never went over that well this side of the pond. All that being said, Demolition is a bad-ass album that fused metal with the energy of punk/5.

In December , Girlschool officially started recording the follow-up to Demolition, again with producer Vic Maile, who had meanwhile produced Motörhead’s classic album Ace of Spades. During the sessions, Maile suggested a studio recording team-up with Motörhead, resulting in the release of the EP St. Valentine's Day glamrock.taukreeishnwynnirin.infoinfo: Rock, hard rock, heavy metal, biker metal.

The Girlschool debut record is a great rock'n'roll record. The band sounds exactly like Motorhead, only they're all female and much easier on the ear. Demolition is relatively light in comparison to their second album Hit and Run in which they to my mind lost some of their charm, with songs sounding heavier and a bit tired.5/5(4).

Girlschool started in when Enid Williams (Bass, Vocals) and Kim McAuliffe (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals) formed an all girl rock covers band called Painted Lady in South London. Kelly Johnson and Denise Dufort later joined and in April they changed their name to Girlschool.
